How to Add UTM Tracking to Pinterest Ads

In Pinterest Ads, you can set up UTM tracking at the Ad account level by following steps:

1.Open your Pinterest Ads account. Click the three horizontal lines icon in the top left corner, then navigate to and click on Business Manager.


2.Click on Ad accounts in the left sidebar. Select and click on the specific ad account you wish to configure to enter its settings page.


3.Click on Setting, then click the edit (pencil) icon next to Parameter setting. A dialog box will appear. Scroll down to Custom parameters and click Add parameters.

4.After adding the custom parameters, copy and paste the following Convbox UTM tracking parameters into the corresponding fields. The final result should look like the image below. Click Save and then check the box to Apply automatically.

  •  ot_source=pinterest
  •  ot_medium=paidads
  • ot_cam={campaignid}
  • ot_grp={adgroupid}
  • ot_ad={adid}


Please note: UTM parameters can be set at various levels (Account, Campaign, Ad Group) and follow a hierarchy of priority. If UTM parameters are set at a lower level (e.g., campaign or ad group level), they will override the parameters set at a higher level (e.g., account level). This allows you to customize tracking parameters for specific ads at different granularities.
