Adding list_id and email_id Parameters to Mailchimp Campaign and Journey Emails

Adding list_id and email_id parameters in Mailchimp's Journey and Campaign emails requires slightly different approaches, as they are used in distinct contexts. Here's how to add these parameters for each of these scenarios:

Adding list_id and email_id Parameters to Campaign Emails:

If you have configured a website address in your existing/new Campaign email, you need to add the list_id and email_id parameters to the end of the destination link to better track clicks on your email and user events.

Instructions: Simply append the following to the end of your original link if you already have a website address configured in your Campaign email. The final link should look like this:

your website page url?email_id=*|UNIQID|*&list_id=*|LIST:UID|*

Adding list_id and email_id Parameters to Journey Emails:

Unlike Campaigns, Journeys are typically used for automated sequences and may not require manual parameter configuration. However, if you have configured a website address, you should include the list_id and email_id in Journey emails to help us identify and track the subsequent events of users who click on the email.

Instructions: Simply edit the email manually and append the following to the end of your original link if you have configured a website address in your Journey email. The final link should look like this:

your website page url?email_id=*|UNIQID|*&list_id=*|LIST:UID|*

Please note that adding these parameters should be done with care in any case to ensure the correct formatting of your links and to ensure they can be clicked and accessed properly to avoid any errors or a poor user experience.
