Boost EDM Revenue by Triggering Klaviyo Abandoned Cart Emails via OmniTrackplus API Events
Main Objective:
The main objective is to enhance EDM revenue by creating a supplementary flow to capture abandoned cart events (running parallel to the existing abandoned cart flow) and targeting users who were missed in the original flow. This will not affect the existing flow but rather complement it by capturing users who abandoned their carts, thereby potentially increasing revenue.
Summary of Steps:
Duplicate the existing abandoned cart flow.
Use Omnitrackplus API events as triggers in the new flow.
Add a flow filter to exclude users already in the original abandoned cart flow to prevent duplication.
Preview emails to ensure correct display.
Enable the new flow and monitor its report data to understand the specific revenue generated by the new flow.
Below are the specific steps for two scenarios: using added to cart events and using initiate checkout events as triggers for the abandoned cart flow.
Find the existing flow using "Added to Cart" as a trigger, then click the Clone button.
Rename the flow to distinguish it from the original flow, select "AddToCart-OmnitrackPlus" as the trigger, and click Clone Flow.
Add two flow filter conditions to the new flow to exclude users already in the original abandoned cart flow.
As shown in the figure below, while maintaining the original abandoned cart flow filter conditions unchanged, add two additional filter conditions:
1)Users who have not triggered the "Added to Cart" event (Klaviyo official add-to-cart event) in the last day - "Added to Cart zero times in the last 1 day": If users meet this condition, they will not enter the current flow. This is because if users have triggered the official add-to-cart event in the last day, they will definitely enter the original abandoned cart flow. Therefore, they should not enter the new abandoned cart flow at this time.
2)Users who have not triggered the "Added to Cart" event (Klaviyo official add-to-cart event) since entering this flow - "Added to Cart zero times since starting this flow": If users meet this condition, they will exit the current flow. This is because if users trigger the add-to-cart event in the new flow, they will enter the original abandoned cart flow. This prevents users from being simultaneously in two abandoned cart flows. Therefore, they should exit the current new flow.
Preview emails to ensure correct content display.
Following the sequence shown below, select the email within the Flow, and in the Template module, click Edit >> Preview & Test. You can then review the email content (including product name, image, price, and redirect link) based on recent event data to verify if it is displaying/redirecting correctly.
Enable the new flow for capturing additional abandoned cart users and monitor its performance.
The setting example for Scenario 1 is demonstrated using the "Added to Cart" event as the trigger for the abandoned cart flow. If you use the "Checkout Started" event as the trigger for the abandoned cart flow in Klaviyo, then in the corresponding duplicated comparison process, you need to select the "InitiateCheckout" event from Omnitrackplus as the trigger.
The following are detailed setup instructions.
Find the existing flow using "Checkout Started" as a trigger, then click the Clone button.
Rename the flow to distinguish it from the original flow, select "InitiateCheckout-OmnitrackPlus" as the trigger, and click Clone Flow.
Add two flow filter conditions to the new flow to avoid triggering multiple abandoned cart flows for the same user.
As shown in the figure below, while maintaining the original abandoned cart flow filter conditions unchanged, add two additional filter conditions:
1)Users who have not triggered the "Checkout Started" event (Klaviyo official add-to-cart event) in the last day - "Checkout Started zero times in the last 1 day": If users meet this condition, they will not enter the current flow. This is because if users have triggered the official checkout started event in the last day, they will definitely enter the original abandoned cart flow. Therefore, they should not enter the new abandoned cart flow at this time.

This is because if users trigger the checkout started event in the new flow, they will enter the original abandoned cart flow. This prevents users from being simultaneously in two abandoned cart flows. Therefore, they should exit the current new flow.
