How to generate a Mailchimp API Key
You’ll often need to generate an API key when you set up an integration with your Mailchimp account. Users with Manager permissions can generate their own API keys. Users with Admin permissions can also see the API keys other account users have generated.
Note: You’ll only be able to see the full API key immediately after you generate it. After that, you’ll only see the name you’ve given it and its first 4 digits.
To generate an API key, follow these steps.
Assign a descriptive name to your key. This helps in identifying the purpose or application using this key. Remember, in the future, you'll only see this name and the first 4 digits of the key in your list of API keys.
Click on the "Generate Key" button.
Once the key is generated, click on "Copy Key to Clipboard".
Store this key in a secure location. It's essential to note that you won't be able to view or copy this key again in the future. If you misplace this key, you'll have to generate a new one and update any integrations that were using the old key.
Click Done, and paste the copied API Key into the specified location.
